Ready-to-camp
Ten ready-to-camp tents are available this year in the Franceville sector. This innovative shelter comes equipped with heating, beds and everything you need to cook a meal. Close to the camping area, you will find hiking trails, a biking trail, a playground, a picnic area and a mini convenience store.
Camping
Franceville sector, tents and recreational vehicles
The 37 campsites on the Franceville campground are accessible by car. 16 of the sites are semi-serviced and 21 are with 2 services (water and electricity). Close to the camping area, you will find hiking trails, a biking trail, a playground, a picnic area and a mini convenience store.
Observatoire sector, tents only
A few kilometres from the Discovery and Visitors Centre (2.2 km - easy to intermediate trail), the Grande-Ourse campground offers 13 rustic tent platforms. Campers must attach their tents to the wooden platform (4 m x 4 m) with hooks that are available at the reception desk.
Hut
Seven huts with a maximum from 2 to 10 people are available upon reservation. They are 1 km to 5.5 km from the Discovery and Visitors Centre and are accessible on foot, skis or snowshoes depending the hut (intermediate trail). They’re equipped with a wood stove, a large table with chairs and benches, and two closed rooms, and are accessible for hikers during the day between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. You’ll need to bring your own drinking water, along with the basics for cooking and lighting. A pit toilet is located nearby and firewood is provided.
Rustic shelter
Observatoire Sector
Ten rustic shelters are available at the park. Six of them are just a 1-km hike from the Discovery and Visitors Centre (on foot, cross country skis, or snowshoes - intermediate trails) and they sleep 4 to 8 people. They’re equipped with a wood stove, a large table with chairs and benches, a sofa bed, and two closed rooms. You’ll need to bring your own drinking water, along with the basics for cooking and lighting. A pit toilet is located nearby and firewood is provided.
A few kilometres from the Discovery and Visitors Centre (2.2 km - easy to intermediate trail), 4 other rustic shelters that sleep 2 to 4 people are available. They’re equipped with a wood stove, a large table with chairs and benches, and four beds.

With this type of accommodation, the park aims to offer an immersion of the Earth to the stars with a nearby forest, a river and the starry sky of the first International Dark Sky Reserve.
Echo Cabin
New! Three new Écho cabins are offered since last winter in the Franceville sector. This cabin features two rooms, including a closed one, which can comfortably accommodate four persons. A true four-season family cabin!
Users can enjoy the vast windows providing a connection to the surrounding landscapes; a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge, a cooker, and a sink; a bathroom with toilet and shower; and a wood stove in which to light a crackling fire.
Winter camping
For winter camping, you must install your tent beside one of the 13 snow-covered platforms in the Observatoire sector. Outdoor fires are prohibited at this time of year.
